Amocin
If I am correct, the name of the Green Dragon is Irish for Serpent.

The sample is up for the donation pic. You can find it on our "Rewards" page.

Also I feel like I should mention this. Nathair is the equivalent of a teenager as far as dragon years go. Ze is underage and will not appear in any donation pics in the future. Sorry guys.

*was drinking something but had to spit outt* what *cough* is *cough* Mordin doing in the emerald dream!!!!
Rankamateur 27th Jun 2014, 10:40 AM edit delete reply
A very good question. As a normal Death Knight, Mordin can't come even close to claiming the the powers of a druid...so it stands to reason that he has some other means of entering the Dream. There have been other hints that he and/or his followers have a few hidden powers as well; even Drogan has remarked upon Mordin's ability to vanish (teleport away?) as needed, if I remember correctly.

There's something going on here, which seems to make Mordin believe he has the power to conquer the world. Hmmm...
HH 28th Jun 2014, 1:19 AM edit delete reply
my theroy is that before Mordin was a death knight he was a druid but I could be wrong *shrugs*
Viverred 29th Jun 2014, 7:21 AM edit delete reply
there's plenty of examples of non druids entering the emerald dream in WoW. can't imagine it'd be any different here, unless stated otherwise and i missed it. Author/Artists Call.
Rankamateur 29th Jun 2014, 9:19 PM edit delete reply
That is true, Viverred...but in nearly every one of those cases, the means for entering the Emerald Dream was provided by an agent of Ysera (leader of the green dragonflight) or of Cenarius (leader of most druids). It seems to take having a natural affinity for the Dream (in the case of druids), or a great deal of power...which I'm starting to think Mordin has somehow acquired.
Viverred 30th Jun 2014, 7:52 AM edit delete reply
I got that impression, when he was first introduced. Ambitions of world domination usually come from insanity or power. Mordin, never came off as Insane.

Oh god heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere we go, let the emotions fly and let the love triangle begin god dammit im sorry Serid hopefully she will choose her new life with you and continue to move on. On a side note why didnt the baby disappear? Maybe that night Mordin locked him away in the emerald dream somehow? Idk all i know is that if the tears arent evidence enough that some drama is gonna occur between her and Serid. The baby looks so cute in the 4th panel btw ^_^
Dreamfox 27th Jun 2014, 5:36 AM edit delete reply
Yes, that's what it looks like Mordin stashed the kid in one of the savest places in all Azeroth. The Emerald Dream.

I don't think his chances of hooking up with Kinar again are good. Disappearing with their kid, becoming a Death Knight (which I think she would let slide) and a warlord that wants to change everyone in the world into worgen or kill them. Leaving her with the grief of thinking she killed her husband and child.
Yes, this will go over so well.

At least Drogan's intend in involving Kinar in this becomes clearer. If he can turn Mordin away from being a genocidial maniac, he does not have to wipe them all out and this whole affair will come to a more peaceful solution.

At least that are my thoughts on this. Amocin is sneaky, so let's see what else she has up her sleeves.
Silvermane 28th Jun 2014, 11:59 AM edit delete reply
We don't know yet what drove Mordin to become a homicidal maniac, and be fair. The Worgen plague claimed a good number of lives in and of itself, a lot of people attacked by the feral Worgen were killed before they could succumb to the infection. The Worgen survivors who never regained their sanity were either hunted down and killed or abandoned when the Horde invaded (they are essentially lost at this point being too far gone or dead from the plague bombing). Mordin would have every reason to believe Kinar was dead before he saw her in Icecrown, just as Kinars family believes hes dead. Furthermore we don't know the nature of this encounter in the dream yet or whether Joric is truly alive, the dream does contain spirits after all. To be clear I'm not saying Mordin and Kinar are any more likely to hook up then you believe. Just offering a less harsh take on how you see this.

As for Nathair, he looks to be a juvenile, meaning hes still pretty impressionable (especially if he was born and raised in the dream since there are no enemies there). If hes working with Mordin its possible he doesn't even realize that Mordin is on the side of wrong.
Dreamfox 30th Jun 2014, 6:39 AM edit delete reply
True, and we don't know when he got free of the Lich King's influence. Still, with most (all?) surviving Gilneans taken in by the Night Elves, it should have been easy for him to ask around.

In any case, Amocin is sneaky. Let's wait and see.

Guest 27th Jun 2014, 2:21 AM edit delete reply
So if her son is in the emerald dream, and apparently not just part of her own dream, wouldn't that mean he is alive?
Danthehorseman 27th Jun 2014, 2:29 AM edit delete reply

Danthehorseman 27th Jun 2014, 4:17 AM edit delete reply
Is the dragon a female herm or male when you say Ze I dont quite know what it means. I hope your well my girl friend asked if a worsen was in swim suit or nude could the dragon be asleep on the bank of the water while the worgen legs were in the pool. I said I ask. But I can't see a problem with that. But I don't know if your happy to do that. I hope your well. Danny and Maggie.
Amocin 27th Jun 2014, 8:23 AM edit delete reply
Amocin
Ze is suppose to be a gender neutral term. This character is not a herm.

The typical naming structure for members of the green dragon flight have their names ending in an -a for females, and -as or -us for males. Therefor, our new cast member would be known as Nathaira or Nathairas/Nathairus (depending on its gender) among its own kind. Of course, that may not be true at all, since there have been many cases in which dragons have taken on completely different names when dealing with mortals, in order to hide their real draconian name.

As for other matters...it would seem that Kinar's son had actually survived the scenario that described his apparent death during her feral stage (in which he had been presumed dead by their family and friends). The question now would be...who has been raising him this entire time, and did Mordin know about it? It would seem likely, as he doesn't seem to be expressing surprise or curiosity about the child in Nathair's arms. Or is this more evidence of interference by certain dragons of both red and green varieties? Methinks there might be a conspiracy involving both flights...with perhaps the current Lichking's involvement as well?
Saldura 27th Jun 2014, 11:26 AM edit delete reply
Aww poor Kinar. :(

Interesting that she can't see the dragon anymore even though he only seems to be a few feet away...I'm guessing it's just something the emerald dream does to mortals.

Hopefully this means Mordin can't see Kinar either, otherwise this could be trouble.
Aetheos 27th Jun 2014, 12:11 PM edit delete reply

Josh.C 27th Jun 2014, 2:01 PM edit delete reply
Well I all these interesting things, Kinar's kid still being alive in the Emerald dream. Mordin being able to walk here and the green dragon watching things and meeting Kinar.

That's a lot of surprises. Another thing to notice is just how surprised she is to see Mordin and possibly fear him. A dragon fearing Mordin, that isn't a good sign.
Dreamfox 28th Jun 2014, 2:43 AM edit delete reply
A Death Knight walking into the Emerald Dream (if that's truely where they are) isn't a good sign.

Rembrant 27th Jun 2014, 3:19 PM edit delete reply
What the what? SO their baby was never dead, he was someplace else? Under Mordin's command? I mean, that's just my guess, I don't understand how this work, but this is definitely getting intriguing.
Guest 27th Jun 2014, 3:44 PM edit delete reply
Just something that gave me pause: According to you Nathair is too young to be in an "adult scene," okay that is fine, however Anders, who according to the cast page is five years old. So is he(Anders) just barely making the mark to be in an adult scene, as you have put him in? At five years of age, according to WoW lore, both dragons would still be at a whelp stage(pretty small.) So they would be both underage really. Otherwise Nathair would be like 3years, but he would still be a whelp at that age, according to WoW.
Amocin 27th Jun 2014, 6:19 PM edit delete reply

A Netherwing dragon ages completely different then a normal dragon from what I read. They have significantly shorter lifespans and grow up much quicker then normal dragons. It takes a dragon like Drogan 500 years to age to a Wyrm status, but I believe its like 50 or 75 for a Netherwing. So again, Netherwings age MUCH differently then all the other dragons.

Amocin 27th Jun 2014, 10:40 PM edit delete reply
Amocin
No, I will not do a herm character in the comic. Herms seem to be in the snail and fish families, and is super rare in mammals and reptiles from my understanding.

Lately this comic, not bashing artist or her creativity, has been going off the rails. Most of the story I can follow but it has become so convoluted it seems like mindless insanity. Yeah yeah artistic license, but come on the only source material you are sticking to are the actual races. I enjoyed the comic for its light and progressive storyline about the sexual encounters, and sometimes blunders, but now its gotten brain numbingly molar grinding to those who know the lore. Sure the first thing people will say is "you're not forced to read it and can stop" and I am which I do not expect the author to cease. it is the author's creativity that kept me reading since first release and well its the same thing that alienated my patience. there WAS a fine balance between smut and story. now it just seems like a futile stranglehold on ripping out more story. Best wishes on your future releases.

I have no idea what to take from this. While I appreciate it when people tell me what they find wrong.. I am having a hard time pin pointing your problem. Its not going to stop me or change my mind, there are things that are, right now, undiscovered to the readers. It works in my brain, and really, dont take it too seriously. Blizzard has left so many things up to interpenetration, and left vague.. Just because the fanbase has a consensus on what they believe is canon, doesnt make it so.. So I try to work my own spin on it. This is a fan comic after all. =P
Rankamateur 29th Jun 2014, 9:41 PM edit delete reply
If you're going to be critical about some perceived deviation from established lore, perhaps you might want to be a bit more specific. There probably isn't a bigger geek than myself concerning such things...yet I haven't seen a whole lot in this story that would break continuity to any great degree, or couldn't be explained if given some creative thought.

Perhaps you might reconsider the use of phrases like `brain numbingly molar grinding' or `futile stranglehold' when critiquing a plot-line next time...especially considering you've yet to be made privy to all the facts. It's rude, and more than a little ironic.

How old is Anders compared to Nathair if Nathair is supposed to be a teen dragon?
Amocin 29th Jun 2014, 10:13 AM edit delete reply
Amocin
They are the same age. Netherwing Drakes are an oddity, they mature faster, but also live significantly shorter lifespans then other dragons. So while they may be the same age, Anders is considered mature, where as Nathair is an adolescent.
Viverred 29th Jun 2014, 7:31 AM edit delete reply
I'm no 'lore' expert. but they 'lore' has been rewritten multiple times to accomodate new developments in the game. Plus it has loopholes in it big enough to drive an aircraft carrier through. so anyone complaining about how this is 'lore' breaking needs to step back from the fan buffet. Don't get me wrong, i love WoW. but seriously.
theory 29th Jun 2014, 9:46 AM edit delete reply
What if what we saw in the beginning with her opening her eyes was of Mordins doing? Like he uses her to get into the emerald dream instead of himself having to? Kinds like hitching a ride past a police road block in another car that doesn't know you are there? And the dragon clearly is not happy to see him . Probably because something bad is going to happen.
Azvolrien 2nd Jul 2014, 7:27 PM edit delete reply
Yep, it's both Irish and Scottish Gaelic for 'snake'; as far as I know the Gaelic pronunciation is roughly 'na-her' but I don't know if that's what you're going for.
