EDIT: If you are not seeing the fully shaded version please refresh the page.

Artists constantly draw the wings of a dragon like giant arms with extra large webbed fingers.. I completely agree with this.. But I also think that they should use these 'hands' for more then just flight.. I would say that they are not overly fragile as they have to carry the weight of a giant lizard, so they can wack a few humaniods out of the way.

Silly worgen, anyone who has been in a dungeon knows that dragonkin are immune to death grip. It only pisses them off

The DK's faces in the last panel just made my morning :D Priceless! Thank you for sharing this amazing comic with the rest of us. It's really nice ^^
masorin 22nd Nov 2013, 1:32 AM edit delete reply
And this is why you don't mess with Dragons. They don't fight fair with all their fire, and extra limbs, those poor death knights never had a chance. :P
crazieanimefan1 22nd Nov 2013, 1:35 AM edit delete reply
The only words I can say for the last panel are: "RUN FORREST RUN!"

Josh.C 22nd Nov 2013, 1:35 AM edit delete reply
Well it looks like a group of DKs can be a bit much for a dragon like Drogan in a situation like that.

But Drogan's showing he has a few tricks and abilities of his own.
Guest 22nd Nov 2013, 1:50 AM edit delete reply
The chains that were on his wrist are missing in panel 4
Amocin 22nd Nov 2013, 1:52 AM edit delete reply
Amocin
The Chains dont exist without the DK, the DKs were swooped away. Those chains no longer exist.
Butty 22nd Nov 2013, 4:16 AM edit delete reply
Hey Amocin, I can easily see what they mean on panel 4. I myself am a bit confused even when you said the chains disappeared. Maybe you should make a little "poof" thing in the shading? Kinda like they fade away into nothingless as the shadowmagic within them vanishes away? Just a thought! ^^
Paradox Enterprise 27th Nov 2013, 5:44 PM edit delete reply
The time frame between the two frames the chains would already have gone
Guest 28th Nov 2013, 8:10 PM edit delete reply
I can still see where Guest is coming from though--it does look a bit confusing, and if you aren't super familiar with how DK chains work, you wouldn't know that's what happened.
Dreamfox 22nd Nov 2013, 2:03 AM edit delete reply
It has been a long time since I got used to Worgen not having tails. Today I am missing them again. It would have been so nice to see them running away with their tails between their legs :)

I am so tempted to quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail here... The line from King Arthur to Sir Robin after he crapped himself in fear "And go change your armor!" I think the last panel is a distinct "Sir Robin" moment. LOL

Hey there been reading your comic since the beginning, just wondering what do you use to make the comic panels?
Amocin 22nd Nov 2013, 10:02 AM edit delete reply
Amocin
I use both Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI to make the comic.
Ramol 22nd Nov 2013, 7:44 PM edit delete reply
When you planning to make it look the way it used to again???
Rizzio 27th Nov 2013, 9:14 AM edit delete reply
So you make your own panels then, thats a new one for me 0.o
Rankamateur 22nd Nov 2013, 5:40 AM edit delete reply
Those artists would actually be correct, technically; the wing design on dragons are usually based on those found on bats, and the their wings really are simply `hands' with long webbed fingers.

However! Unlike bats, dragons have six limbs, not four...and since dragons don't exist in reality, it's up to the individual artist's preference as to how to depict them, yes?

So by all means, draw them as you like; I'll just sit back and be envious of even having such a graphical skill.
Tracks 22nd Nov 2013, 7:38 AM edit delete reply
Hehe, silly DKs. Hey Amo, why are you running into scheduling problems? Just a suggestion here, since you're a weekly updater, shouldn't you draw a few weeks ahead then color two, shade one and only have to worry about doing the work of one page once a week while accomplishing the work of multiple weeks? Or how do you schedule your pages?
Saldura 22nd Nov 2013, 9:25 AM edit delete reply
Ah yes those wings... I found our first hand how much of a punch those pack...

First time I went up against a grounded dragon in Skyrim I thought "hey let's avoid the teeth and fire breath and just flank the beast!" Next thing I know I get two slaps of a wing and finished off with a tail swipe, yep that plan worked out well...

I still flank the dragons, but i've learned not to underestimate their wings, it's less dangerous than their maw and fire/ice breath, but it still hurts to get "backhanded"

Yes there will be other dragons but I cant say what type. Spoilers and all.
Rav 22nd Nov 2013, 9:50 AM edit delete reply
I really like the way you draw your dragons by the way. They are very similar to wow but with your own flair very nice :) I hope you keep drawing them in the comic. Oh and btw do you have a deviant-art account? I'd LOVE to look at more of your stuff ^.^
Snow 22nd Nov 2013, 10:20 AM edit delete reply
For the shading, I don't mind that you ran into trouble, instead of just seeing the finished product, this allows you to see the before and after product of shading.(if you want to) Sure you have to get here before you change it, but it always surprises me how much shading changes a picture.

As for the comic, kudos for making something I'm interested in coming back to every Friday.

Keep up the good work!

P.S. I gotta agree with you about those wings, a dragon that weighs about a ton is going to fly using them and they're fragile as glass? No, I don't believe that would be physically possible, and saying that just limits the usefulness of them and takes away the fighting capabilities. Heck, when I played Spyro they'd use the wings as a shield to protect from projectiles(spears, rocks, you name it! Just not fireballs...) by folding them over his head. Kinda reminded me of a tank for some reason...

Is this comic based on a game of some sort?

Its based off of World of Warcraft.

PS: having a little trouble following the backstory. Plus, who is the pink cat/elf-looking-thing?

Thats mostly my bad, because it was written with the assumption that people already knew the lore of the world. So to non-WoW players I understand it can be a bit confusing.
Mehrohknee 24th Nov 2013, 12:43 AM edit delete reply
After reading this comic for couple months almost a year now(and really enjoying it so far)I have regained a craving for playing World of Warcraft again. Can't wait for next weeks post.

That would be Ashiana, A Night Elf druid.

For future reference, she and most of the others have more detailed bios that can be found by clicking the "About" button above, and under "Cast".

What software are you using to make the art and the comic and how can I get it?
Amocin 25th Nov 2013, 1:36 AM edit delete reply

I use Paint Tool SAI for most of my stuff, all except for word bubbles and words.. I have to do that in Photoshop.

http://www.systemax.jp/en/sai/ - Here you can find paint tool sai, its worth the price.

Makes sense, given that certain birds actually use their wings as a weapon. Geese, for instance, can hit you so hard with their wings that it can break bone.

DSL, there are a million WoW videos, just look it up on youtube. It will give you each class and their traits, but I dont know about any reviews or what you are looking for.. I would say best thing to do is sign up for a trial, play it for a bit, and see how you like it.

Ummmmmm....... I just watched a gameplay video for WoW. The graphics are a lot more childish than I imagined. It's realy babyish looking. This comic is much cooler than the actual game.

It is true that the game's basic graphics engine is outdated. That is because it has been around for nine years now, so it's understandable that you would consider it cartoon-ish when compared to many newer games.

However, the gameplay is still more diverse and expansive (i.e., more fun) than most of those same games. There is good reason why WoW has such a large number of registered players.
Just a random reader 27th Nov 2013, 10:42 PM edit delete reply
I wouldn't watch just any gameplay video. It would be better if you tried it out for yourself. Having recently upgraded to a top-of-the-line graphics card, I can now run the game on full-ultra graphical settings. I can tell you that the game is far more beautiful than people give it credit for. Yes, the character models are cartoony. That's it's style. LoZ the Wind Waker was also cartoonishly stylized, and people loved it. Graphics do not make the game, is my point. However, with the settings at their best, WoW is BEAUTIFUL, especially Pandaria.
